John Unghire
John is a veteran Aerospace and Business Development professional. His experience extends over three decades, most recently as Vice President Sales and Business Development for Transcend Air Corporation currently in development of a high-speed VTOL aircraft, the Vy 421. The majority of John’s career has been with Kaman Aerospace where he helped to lead a “One Kaman” design and manufacturing solution as Senior Director, Business Development. Customers here included all the major commercial and defense aerospace primes and tier 1 suppliers – Boeing, Northrop, Sikorsky, Bell, Embraer, Bombardier, Lockheed, etc. In addition to Kaman’s BD efforts, John also worked with Jim and Pat supporting M&A activities for Kaman. John served as a Board Member of the General Aviation Manufacturers Association (GAMA).
His interests include fishing, golf, and traveling. John is a Private Pilot and a NAUI certified scuba instructor. He received his B.A. degree in Political Science from the University of Steubenville, in Ohio. John and his wife Lori reside in their hometown of Enfield, CT. They have two sons and three beautiful granddaughters.
